I have a peculiar feeling
And so it begins, the start of a new journey lord knows the last journey isn't even done yet but time and tide wait for no man. So to work on book 3 "Inheritance" sees us back in the trenches of WW1 and if i'm honest this is personal. This book will tell a different story to Jack and Albert, a different type of war. Mark this day in your calendar because for the next couple of months i'm going to be busy, I might even go to France this time and have a look see at some of the

So Cheesy it should be called Cheddar!
Well you will no doubt be delighted to know the bills are paid, so I can afford time to Blog (its a secret passion really, we all need a hobby) I wanted to wish everyone a happy Easter but it involves loads of chocolate and guilt and well; we all have our crosses to bear (see what I did there!) I also wanted to say thank you for continuing to read my blog and buy my books, some people who have just bought the first book The Long Shot have really enjoyed it and it gives me shi

Oh What Fun Blogging is, (but it dont pay the bills)
Well I suppose it had to end sometime, and by end I really mean something else, it's all a mystery to me. Since we started the blogs oh some yonks ago, they have been keenly anticipated and read with gusto, and if I'm honest I love writing them so today is harder because I'm going to slow down on "Blogging" You see Blogging is supposed to be three things, 1. A sales tool 2. A way to entertain and 3. A way to pass on information and wit! I have to confess I dont th

Happy St Patricks day!
First and foremost for all my Irish friends have a wonderful St Patricks day, may you have the luck of the Irish blessed upon you. I always thought my life was quite interesting, that was until I accidentally looked at the current Mrs Athertons facebook page, I can now confirm i'm officially dull. She has hundreds of friends and they all post loads on her time thingy. They are full of good advice and interesting questions yada yada.. It's little wonder we never get time to sp

The reviews are coming in..
The thing about writing a book is that its just a load of words unless someone reads them and better still enjoys that process. So I am in serendipity tonight because the first group of people have finished reading and have bothered to tell other people what they thought of the book. Dangerous times, but not tonight because the reviews that A Shot From The Shadows are getting are fantastic. I am over the moon so thank you everyone for taking that time. Leave them on Amazon be
First review for A Shot From The Shadows..
Isn't it typical, I waffle on in my blog only to find five minuets later that someone really does have something of real value to say. The first review of the new book is just in, Given that the reader only had the book since yesterday it speaks volumes that he has read it and even found time to send this review. Martin Dursley A cracking good read and totally enthralling. Well thought out and I only put the book down for another cup of tea for refreshment . Really enthused f

102 Out!
Oh My Lord, What a week this has been. I have eaten far too many cakes and drunk a gallon of very fine coffee at the various coffee shops and garden centres we are due to attend to carry out book signings. The more observant of you will have no doubt noticed I'm carrying a bit of extra in the ration department but its honest fat and worked for, but even so it has been a bit excessive this week. The even better news is the number of books that have been dispatched, in the firs

What a charming chap
Today we started the best bit of being a self published author, selling your book to the unsuspecting public.. We have a provisional date for the 23rd March at Walkers Garden Centre in Doncaster, we like Walkers! Tomorrow we go to The Peppered Pig, a superb deli that serves the most wonderful food and the coffee is to die for. That is the next place to be booked for a signing. I would love to come to a place near you wherever you are (within reason..) but I love talking about

Happy Mothers day,
Well it's slightly crazy here at Atherton Towers, Books flying out all over the place, USA, Australia, NZ, even Scunthorpe. So I thought I might just take a minute to wish all the mums out there in Blog land a wonderful Mothers day. Mine, sadly departed many many moons ago but on days like today I like to think of her just to wish her well and tell her one day we'll meet again. So take a bit longer than a minute to think about yours. Better still buy her a book! Have a wonder

Woo Hoo, It's here, It's here!!
Well bugger me with a large tree branch, after all the waiting and posting and blogging, etc etc it's finally here. At last. There is no doubt it has been a journey, and true enough not an altogether bad one i've enjoyed all of it (apart from the waiting) and now we have to turn the page and start a new chapter, (see what I did there!) Now we start on the selling and reviews and in many ways thats as much fun as the writing and production of the book in the first place. To da
